Ontario businesses can now secure funding with the Critical Mineral Innovation Fund to accelerate R&D and commercialization of breakthrough technologies that strengthen the province’s position in critical minerals supply chains. From battery materials to advanced exploration and recovery, the CMIF helps you move faster from concept to market.

What Types of Projects Qualify?
- Commercialization activities: Prototype demonstrations, product certification, scaling technologies for mine sites, external R&D services, capital assets & equipment tied to commercialization.
- R&D activities: Prototyping, product testing, IP protection, contracted technical services, technology transfer/feasibility studies, related capital assets.
