Funding Alert: Workforce Training Measure Program

The program is aimed at the employed workforce in Quebec and aims to support the development of workers’ skills, based on priorities established at the regional and local levels of the Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity (MESS).

Funding Type: Grant (non-refundable contribution)

Funding Amount

50 percent of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $2M, including salaries of learners and trainers.

Eligible Applicants

All companies from the Province of Quebec, according to the priorities of regional management.

Funding Objectives: Workforce Training Measure Program

• The Ministry primarily intervenes with small and medium-sized businesses.
• Promote the training culture in Quebec SMEs and make them aware of their responsibilities in terms of training their workforce.
• Supported training must help increase business productivity.

Eligible Projects and Costs

• Must aim to maintain employment or make it possible to fill jobs with greater responsibility.
• The skills acquired must be outside the company’s current activities.
• Respond to strategic issues hindering the company’s growth.

• Skills assessment
• Development and adaptation of training content
• Purchase of training
• Development, adaptation, purchase and rental of educational and didactic materials
• Salaries or fees of trainers
• Salaries of workers in training, excluding social benefits.
• Indirect costs for trainers and trainees,
