To qualify for the IDMTC, your digital product should be designed to educate, inform, or entertain users and include content in at least two different media forms, such as text, sound, or images. The project must be developed in British Columbia to meet eligibility requirements. Note that products enabling gambling with currency are excluded starting September 1, 2024.

To be eligible, a corporation must:

Be a taxable Canadian corporation with a permanent establishment in B.C. during the tax year.

Be registered with the B.C. Ministry of Finance, with the required application fee paid.

Meet salary-and-wage thresholds:

Either have $2 million or more in eligible salary/wages, or
-
Have between $100,000 and $2 million in eligible salary/wages and conduct principally interactive digital media development, or provide eligible services to such a company
