The AgriInnovate Program, part of the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (S-CAP), is now accepting applications from Canadian agri-food innovators. This funding initiative supports the commercialization, demonstration, and adoption of innovative technologies and processes that enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Canada’s agri-food sector.

With interest-free, repayable contributions of up to $5 million per project, this program helps businesses unlock the next stage of growth by reducing upfront costs and extending repayment over a flexible 10-year timeline.

Intake Period:

• Apply now, funding is available only until March 31, 2028, or while funds last!

Funding Amount of AgriInnovate Program

• Maximum funding: $5,000,000 (up to 50% of total project costs)

• Bonus funding: Additional 10% for businesses majority-owned or led by under-represented groups

What Types of Projects Qualify?

To qualify for the AgriInnovate Program, projects must focus on one of the following activities:

• Commercialization of innovative agri-tech or processes
• Demonstration of innovation, including sample production or showcase sites
• Adoption of cutting-edge technologies with significant adaptation in operations

Projects with broad sector impact, export potential, and alignment with sustainability goals will be prioritized.

The program supports a wide range of direct project costs, including:

• Capital expenditures (equipment, software, renovations)
• Salaries and benefits for project staff
• Professional and contracted services
• Start-up and calibration costs
• Limited marketing and consumables
