Funding Alert: Reducing air and noise pollution

Up to $500,000 in non-repayable funding for equipment upgrades reducing air and noise pollution from the Fonds d'action Québécois pour le développement durable (FAQDD)

The Air and Noise Pollution Reduction program – stream 1 is now open for applications. Quebec-based businesses, non-profits, and municipalities looking to upgrade outdated equipment and reduce their environmental impact can apply for non-repayable funding of up to $500,000.

The program is administered by the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable (FAQDD) and targets the reduction of air and noise pollution by funding the replacement of existing equipment with more efficient, environmentally friendly alternatives.

Intake Period:

  • Deadline to apply: September 19, 2025
  • Projects must be done at the latest August 31, 2027

Funding Amount of the Air and Noise Pollution Reduction Program

  • Up to $500,000 non-repayable, covering up to 50% of eligible costs

What Types of Projects Qualify?

Eligible projects must involve the replacement of existing equipment with models that offer significant, measurable improvements in reducing air emissions and/or ambient noise such as:

  • Replacing a noisy external conveyor system
  • Swapping an old oil-fired boiler for an energy-efficient heat pump
  • Installing a high-performance industrial ventilation system

These improvements must lead to direct, long-term reductions in emissions or noise.


Eligible Expenses

Funding can be applied to a wide range of project costs, including:

  • New equipment, parts, and associated software
  • Materials for installing or integrating the new equipment
  • Professional fees for external experts (technical and reporting support)
  • Travel expenses for experts (within Quebec)
  • Directly applicable taxes
  • Administrative costs (up to 10%)
