The Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) is your opportunity to transform your operations and position your business for long-term success. Funding Amount of the Ontario Automotive Modernization Program
- Maximum Funding and Type: Grant (non-repayable) up to $150,000
- Cost Share: O-AMP will cover up to 50% of eligible project costs
Eligible Applicants
- For-profit Ontario-based firms with <500 Ontario employees and under $1B in global revenue
- Active in the OEM automotive supply chain (i.e. machinery, software or component suppliers, including for EVs or EV battery components)
- New for this round: 30% of total sales revenue must come from the automotive sector (previously the minimum was 50%)
- Minimum audited or reviewed financial statements for last 2 full fiscal years
Eligible Projects
Projects must fall into one or more of the following categories and be completed within 2-years:
- Technology adoption for process efficiency (e.g. ERP, production tracking, advanced hardware/software; includes training)
- Tools for new product development (e.g. CAD/CAM, FEA, DFM and rapid prototyping tools to support innovation and commercialization)
- Lean manufacturing (e.g. procurement of third-party expert consultants to support Lean Manufacturing improvements)
Eligible Costs
- Capital Costs: equipment and software acquisition, installation & setup, software licenses, direct materials (e.g. for configuring, testing, training)
- Training Costs: personnel training, e.g. on novel production techniques (includes staff hours for non-management); subcontractor/consultant fees must be for Lean manufacturing.
- Salaries & Benefits: incremental staff salaries/benefits for direct project-time
